Still have the bangs, but the image has changed!

Hi… My name is Suzy Carruth Kuperschmidt

and this is the RaMbLiNgS Story…

I was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1956. My family was transferred to El Paso, Texas in 1957 and my sister was born in 1958. My dad, Jim was an engineer (I always thought he worked on a train!) with Standard Oil Company; and my mom, Jane was an elementary school teacher at Eastwood Knolls, and continues to be the quintessential master of cursive handwriting.

I really did  live an idyllic life on a dead-end, gravel road at 480 Butchofsky Street where I rode my bike, played outside with my  friends and took care of my pets: BoPeep the lamb, Taco the donkey, cats, Iddy Biddy and Snowball, Petey the parakeet and a couple of rabbits.

It was 1964 at Marian Manor Elementary School in Mrs. Sewell’s 3rd grade class where these stories were imagined.

In 1966, our family was transferred to Utah and my notebooks and childhood treasures began a 50-year odyssey in a moving box from El Paso,Texas to Bountiful, Utah to Omaha, Nebraska before finally re-emerging in Phoenix, Arizona in 2013.

If you were ever a third grader and let’s be honest…who wasn’t? (well…unless you’re a second grader) Then, this book is for you!

Explore the world through the eyes of a third grader that didn’t have access to an iPhone, laptop or some other mode of information-gathering system. This third grader actually had to write legibly with a #2 pencil.

My quirky little stories in RaMbLiNgS brings a sense of nostalgia to the pages of this book from a third grader’s innocence of  awe and wonder. I also created My RaMbLiNgS spiral notebook for kids to write their own stories and create art masterpieces.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW: My mom retired from teaching after 42 years in 1996 and still lives in Utah with Julie, her husband Mike and their two kids Sara and Alex. My dad passed away in 1996, but would surely have gotten a kick out of this book! BoPeep provided lots of wool for blankets and coats, Taco was donated to Fort Bliss, and became their mascot (renamed Hank),  Biddy and Snowball retired in Utah, Petey went to the big bird cage in the sky and Mrs. Sewell had many wonderful years of teaching. I have two kids: Portia who lives in Phoenix with her husband Dillon and their dog Olive Bean, and Jordan, who lives the dream in London. I live in Scottsdale, Arizona with my husband Jeff and two cats, John and Yoko.
